Tom Ferrier

Good to see Tom Ferrier getting a real competetive drive this year in the ETCC. I understand that he has been a VIC-TIM of some rather selfish people over the winter!! Great to see him in a car that will be capable of podiums for a change. What are your thoughts?

So is the rumour true, that Halfords were brought to VLR by Tom Ferrier's dad and that Vic hijacked it and put Tim in the car?

I bet Vic Lee is kicking his dirty little shins now, he signed a old man when he had the chance to sign one of the best young up and coming drivers with touring car experiance. But who would want to work for a bloke that screws you over at the first oppertunity anyway!

Given Vic Lee's past, morales I would guess are low on his list.

Given that this is actually a topic about Tom Ferrier in the ETCC, has anyone actually got any comments about that?

nah, he'll do well i think, but then my knowledge of that area isnt too good anymore. Is it still on Eurosport? Its one of those series on which my knowledge is woefully poor. Good luck to him all the same-wasnt he in a couple of the races last year? or am i thinking of another British guy or team (not Matt Neal)

I think that the comments are relevant. It is the reason why Tom is in the ETCC. I also think that it is great that both he and Gavin Pyper will have backing from Team Dynamics in their respective Championships.

Tom Ferrier deserves a break. He is one of the "new" young breed with Pyper, Howell, Shedden, Turkington, and Buxton who are all under 25 and have made a concious decision to choose Touring cars over single seaters at a very young age. They are the future of the BTCC, not Harvey, Leslie, Reid, Menu, Cleland and all the others that people keep calling for. True, those guys made the BTCC but it is time to hand it over to the new breed.

Some of you may not know that Tom also got the rising star thing as well. Yes tom will be on eurosport on Sunday not sure of times yet but i will keep you posted. Sherman, he was in about 5 races last season best position was forth, he led at Donny but had engine troubles towards the end. He was in the JSM Alfa with the yellow strip across the windscreen. Tom has a tough grid this year check out www.eurostc.com to see some of the most famous names in motor racing on that grid. If he does well you could be seeing a lot more of this talented young driver.

Yeah, i know he was in the BTCC, but i thought he had a couple of tryouts in the ETCC last year. I realise now i was probably mixing him up with someone else, as i always seem to do nowadays!!

He did the full year in ETCC with James Hanson as his team-mate. They drove BMWs in the production class for Edenbridge. So you aren't going mad Sherman.
