FPRXR-6 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
When will Ford teams be able to get new V8's?

Ford has been using the current V8 engine since '93 so would there be any development left in it?
Holden's Aurora engines are still pretty new and they are already close to what SBR have in BHP so doesn't Holden have an advantage with a newer engine?

That's operation Blueprint for you - Ford has no other 5 litre pushrod engine and doesn't need one - neither the Chev or Ford 5 litre as used by the V8 Supercars are now no longer production based .

The Aurora (HMS) engine was given to the Holden teams as it has similiar specifications to the Ford engine. I believe it started out as a 3.5 litre Oldsmobile racing engine.

Surely theres something different between the engines now and 12 years ago, afterall judging from DJR's website, the cars have gained 100hp

The engine builders try different things like components etc and shove them on a dyno and see what happens...there are always small gains to be made.

Spoke to Bezzy while he was at SBR and he told me they had an update of 20hp coming in the next engine. I think this was just before the QR 300-28 the year he won.

seem to remember some special US sourced trick Ford SVO head that was available for the Nascar 5 litre -but it wont happen with Lowndes/Ambrose winning their share for Ford.
