Apparently in all the excitement GT wasn't told that they were using the shortened track and he came around a blind corner and either hit a tyre wall used to block the track or took evasive action and went off into the tyre wall.
Only front bar damage i believe.

TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
After driving many laps around Oran and watching Oran on TV for over 20 years I did know that there was a blind corner on the Oran Park track, must just be me, and by now Garth would of done hundreds of laps around there or was it he ( Garth ) just stuffed up.

I heard that it was around the bridge area and that he thought that he would be going a certain direction but it didnt turn out to be the case.

Sorry, so you're saying you did know? Well, thats good. I guess you're saying that because the entry to Turn 6 features a bridge which obscures your view of the corner. Which means you wouldn't see a bunch of tyres put in the middle of the track. Glad to see you can take off those blue glasses and be understanding of the situation Garth was in.

Yes lets all question his talent and thought processes. What does a V8 Supercar championship mean these days anyway. Anyone can win one of those. Can't they ?

Indeed Billy.

Although it might be a nice car, how do they justify the 120K bump in price?

Start with a car worth around 30K and ask 150K...Someone is making a killing. Can you explain where HSV spent anywhere near 120K on improvements? That's a lot of money for something rolled off the line in Adelaide, shipped to Clayton and tarted up.

Good on them I say. HSV is building some bloody nice cars - while we still have petrol enjoy it, and if you've got the $ and you want to spend you money on something built here in Australia then good luck to you! Shame its not 30K less and it could run rings around the competition at the Bathurst 12Hr .. It got some pretty good reviews in Wheels as well.

Well it would not be the first time a 427 Holden ran rings around the others at Bathurst.

I'm not saying its a good or bad car, nor am I saying HSV is building rubbish.

What I'm asking is how do you manage to make a 30K car cost 5 times the price or thereabouts? Recon you could shove a bigger donk, box, brakes and leather steering wheel in the old Vacationer yourself and still have enough change from 150K to do a hot Astra/Gemini for the wife.

The low repair bill, thanks to plentifully available panels; would have to be one of the very few advantages of having a $155k 'exotic' car being derived from a $30k base car.

If what i,m hearing is correct then they're may not be any more than the 50 or 80 odd ?? 427,s hitting the streets as there are BIG problems getting the engines from the USA.
So considering that big Tom has 2 and GT, Murph, MS and a few other drivers have 1, it doesn't leave many out there.

Indeed. I guess if you like it and you can afford it, then go enjoy it and bugger what anyone else thinks. But for me, 150/155K whatever its going to cost, its not good value for money.

What you're buying is an exclusive. When you set the price that high it does exclude a fair few people. I'd love to see a list of enhancements HSV have stuck in the car and what they'd cost you down at Supercheap Auto.

But if you like it and you can afford it, fine. However, if you pull up next to me on the road and expect me to drool with envy....nah, not going to happen. But please enjoy your new ride in safety.

With Ford cutting back so many jobs they may have to reduce that to 50 a year Billy

Was on the radio today that the car that Garth binged up was the No1 car, first one off the line.
