I think it needed a bit of a threat of rain to be really interesting. In the end the front runner was able to run as fast as he saw fit.

Quite a lively race with some great racing AND passing. I'm loving how close the cars can follow and the tyres seem to hang in there.
But ruined the race for the lead by an ill-timed safety car, although that did create some action back through the field. |

I felt it hard to get excited while watching. But there was some passing and some battles. Overall better than average. I give it a seven.

A 6. It was better than Melbourne - and it was good that the track was wet at the beginning, but it was no classic. I was really looking forward to a bit more rain - so that a Hamilton versus Vettel versus Verstappen battle could take place at the front. That being said - it was good that what passing there was, was done more organically(i.e. no DRS).

8. A fair bit of non DRS passing and a lack of team orders.
May not be a classic but completely enjoyable. |

Frenetic stuff at the beginning, what with the VSC and then the FCY and all the tyre stops but after that, the race settled down and really didn't do a lot. A few great overtakes, particularly from Grosjean, as DRS didn't seem to have much effect. If anything the race highlighted how hard it is to overtake, with the current car. However, I don't know why Verstappen was whinging about Grosjean? It's not as if he was right up on his tail, like Ricciardo was on Verstappen's.

Considering the races from 2011 since Pirelli came as sole suppliers? It was good. Finally a race in which the winner is not decided by tyres who blow up after only a couple of laps. Still too early to tell but removing Bernard Charles Ecclestone was not such a bad idea afterall.

6. As Mr. Cat says, better than Melbourne, but that's not really saying much. Huge shame there wasn't a downpour half way through.....

7 from me. I quite enjoyed it, but that may be influenced by the fact I got to watch the whole thing uninterrupted after a day at Donington with the MG Car Club. My kids are away

7 lively at the beginning and some good racing, especially with the long straight

7 from me. Pretty entertaining stuff. Without the slippery conditions, it would have probably not have been so good.
