Consistency is good for the competitors. Assuming the TBC's are sonoma and mid Ohio as they were this year Wonder if sprint x races will take the same weekends Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This weeks SC365 Podcast features a interview with Greg Gill, starting about 26 minutes in. Lots of talk about next season. |

I don't want to listen to the whole thing, any talk about dropping the stupid MTOD deal and putting the races on YouTube?

No mention of it in the podcast. Sounds like there are some changes coming to the PWC streaming. What that means for MToD, I don't know.

MTOD sounded like a great concept but it simply never worked. Streaming via YouTube (I'm sure SRO will happily help out with that!) is a much preferred method IMO.

There's been a lot of talk internally about both TV and streaming. Should be a lot better in 2018 and beyond.

Simple, all races streaming only on youtube. Then available for viewing afterward. Then, when you are in a country like Japan or China, you don't have to be up at 2am to watch a live race. You can wait until the morning and watch it before you know what happened and whatnot, thus no reason to watch the actual live broadcast. Same if you live in the US and can't watch the race live because of some other prior commitment but you can watch it 2 hours later. Run pop up ads and regular ads during the broadcast. Then it'll be attractive for sponsors. The current method is not. PWC needs to take the lead on this for the US. Most middle age and just about all younger people don't have or watch CBS Sports. Even here, there are about 2-3 of the same people that only ever comment or watch the races over the weekend. It shouldn't be that way but it is.

That's ok for customer-focused championships. But major championships need TV and sponsor money, both of which need millions of fans watching.

Sportscar racing is pretty much all business to business marketing, not business to customer marketing like you see in NASCAR. Getting eyes on the product is now easier and better via free live streaming. Why would you want to sign a deal with a cable channel when thousands and thousands of people are fleeing the cable tv scene and going to online-only platforms?

Totally agree. TV deals aren't worth it any more, free streaming is far more effective, and on demand viewing only makes it easier for more people to watch your race, and therefore view your advertising Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice one!
With the way the Cardinals' season has gone, maybe switching sports is worth a try... |

With Caddy gone for 2018, the whole series is now with privateers and 3-4 cars that are owned by the privateers but paid for by a manufacturer. At this point, go with the YouTube generation. Get rid of the middle age white male thinking of TV only.

WELL SAID With the Caddy news, they must be more accessible or they risk losing the great product they have put together. I honestly never liked the Caddy programme, it was against the customer style of GT3 I'm fine with Factory support and factory drivers, but if you don't even sell your cars it's completely against the original ethos of GT3 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

At this point it's where PWC doesn't have to fit into the GM mantra of having it on TV. Now they can do what happens elsewhere and make it accessible to everyone at any time they want. The ALMS tried this back when it wasn't ready for prime time but it is today. Why not utilize a platform that is literally what everyone is going toward anyway. If you have your nose stuck in your phone, then why not have it be a live PWC race as opposed to some other race in Europe or losing interest in seeing the CBS race because you already know the results and what happened. An option is to do a 15 minute streaming pre show where they interview the drivers and go over what happened the last few races. Then that leads into the actual streaming race. Who wouldn't want to hear from Long, Eversley, Hedlund, Chase or Grahovec before they go out to race? |

DSC are suggesting PWC really want some Callaway C7 R's on the grid next year, and DSC seems to be optimistic GM will now allow that to happen
