Aston Martin in ETCC??
that was the hot news in the paddock at anderstorp, people from AM have already spoken to Oreca and Prodrive to run the team/build the cars.
with Maserati also joining(and Pagani??) FIA GT could be even more interesting. |

The dissions with Mazda took place a good 18 months or more ago, and from what I understand they came to nothing.

Anything Prodrive touches is gold in my opinion, so if they end up doing an Aston Martin I'm sure it will be fantastic.
Just to get a handle on the speculative situation here, over the next two years in the GT class we could potentially be looking at: Ferrari 550/575 Lister Storm (how much does that car have left?) Saleen S7 Oreca Viper Lamborghini Prodrive Aston Martin Maserati Pagani Any other rumored cars that I'm missing? |

Not rumored, but basically confirmed: Corvette C6-R.
EDIT: And don't forget the new Modena in 2005, I believe it will be called the 420 due to increase in displacement (2004 will be a 400 Modena, IIRC). Last edited by RM40; 9 Sep 2003 at 01:59. |

Whoa, hold on now... when was the Corvette C6-R confirmed for the FIA-GT series? Does anyone have a link to a news piece on this? I don't miss much, but I certainly missed that!

The Maserati is expected to be revealed in March 2004 and will not compete in Fia-gt before halfway the 2004 season.

Which Aston Martin would they race? The new DB9 or the AMV8 Vantage?

Two other cars with GT looks are the Alfa 8C and a possible new capri. Both only at concept stage but the Alfa an absolute cracker.

Wow that is a good looking car!
Lets hope the name is significant to a return to LeMans, if so I would expect it to go into GT / NGT so as not to compete with the Maserati! |

NGT would be good . but there a 360 there too .. but would be great to see it raced .. cause some details remind me of the TZ2 .
