Rumor: ALMS to Road America, LRP next year?
Autoracing1 reports:
5/15/01 Strong "ALMS and GrandAm joint weekends Rumor has it that the promoters of Lime Rock, Road America and Mid Ohio have gotten agreement from ALMS and GrandAm to hold combined events at all three tracks next year." http://www.autoracing1.com/rumors.htm note ALMS is already going to run Mid Ohio this year. If this pans out, great news for ALMS. They will be running at every first class road course in the US except the Glen. Hopefully this will also alsm to drop the rovals, which, aside from being terrible circuits, are poorly attended, and the reason they were placed on the schedule was that they could attract more fans being in bigger markets. Can't wait for next season |

This is good business-wise for both series. Some of the biggest sportscar events held in North America have been the Octoberfest events jointly held by he SCCA and IMSA/Professional Sportscar at Watkins Glen. I look forward to this event.
