Albers or Doornbos?
I think Doornbos did a perfect job today being less than a second behind Albers in his first outing in a Minardi. We all know that 2 Dutch drivers in F1 is one too many. Having 2 Dutch drivers in one team seems to lead to one of them ruining his chances. If Doornbos continues to drive like he did today this will end Albers’ career, I reckon.

On paper Doornbos is comfortably the better driver, so I'm sure he will be outpacing Christjan before long. Getting within a second on a track your team-mate knows especialy ywell (from DTM) on your first every drive of the car is pretty impressive stuff.

I would expect Doornbos to be faster on the long run.
But I don't know how much time he has... I would expect Albers to be faster this weekend, and maybe next weekend. (I haven't seen results from practice 1.2 yet...) |

I must say i was quite impressed with Doornbos today... seems a smooth driver... he was quicker than ALbers in free practice and i wouldnt be surprised seeing him out pace Albers after a couple of races

Albers has had the upper hand in qualifying so far, but of course it is nonetheless a good first outing for Doornbos so far.

Doornbos was solid but very unspectacular. The size of his crash hat made more of an impression. But I think he'll do a great job tomorrow!
Albers is still impressing me. I was one of the few not to write the guy off at the start of the year and he's really coming into his own of late. |

I was very impressed with Doornbos. Not fast, but he made the Minardi almost look like a good car as opposed to its usual over the edge of adhesion sideways stance.
I'd definitely agree with the general sentiment here that before long he'll be quicker than Albers. |

Cosndiering that Doornbos has got this far without ever racing in kartin, I'd say he's got mcuh more lontg-term potential than Albers. Christjan's lap was very impressive,, but his blocking of Montiero was disgraceful and should've been penalised.

He didn't block him - it only looked like that on the foreshortened view from the head-on camera.
But I agree that the practice of ultra-slow in laps must be addressed. |

If monteiro had a problem with Albers then he wasn't concentrating hard enough I'm afraid.
Slow in-laps have never really caused a problem. The only one that springs to mind is Panis at the British GP last year. |

outstanding job for Robert.
He could be faster than Albers in the race, but let's remember that the race is long and even if he is fit I think it is since last year he doesn't have to put so many laps all together. I'm confident he'll do well. |

I think Albers hasn't unleashed his full potential yet. Another year and will we see what he can really do.

Albers has been very impressive lately. We'll see, I suppose.
(BTW does anyone in the Dutch sport like anyone else in the Dutch sport?) |

Doornbos might become faster in qualy, but he is not going to beat Albers in the race. Albers race pace is just amazing. It is never noticed because he is driving a Minardi. If you compare it with the races he has had with Friesacher as his teammate you'll see.

I think Dornboos is a better bet for the future than Albers. Let's see in 2 or 3 races time.

I don't know, I think Albers is doing the best possible job as a rookie in the Minardi so i pick him over his new teammate.

I would say that Doornbos might be a better driver... but I like Albers more. Just a feeling you know... I hope he's gonna make it.

I think Albers did a splendid job so far. I didn't expect him to. He actually surprised me. Nevertheless, when looking at Doornbos’ race pace and how he is developing in just these two weekends with Minardi I expect Robert to perform even better than Christijan from next weekend on.
