I didn't even know the CAMSO V8 series existed

Looks like a cool series though - I'm guessing it's a bit optimistic hoping for some sort of tv coverage on a channel I can get though.

Interesting stuff, Australia's 'Late models' just run on dirt, though the specs are similar, A guy at work races Super Sedans which are similar again, but RHD.

Good luck Kelvin

See, this is the kind of stuff that, should it be aired through Speed in the U.S., I'd buy the cable package just for it. If they believe (and there's quite a bit of truth to it, I'll admit) that a large part of their viewership (is that even a word?) is mainly into NASCAR and dirt oval or short track racing, European late models, BriSCA F1 Stock Car, and other similar series would be PERFECT.

Alas, all I can do is look at pictures on these sites and go "Oooooh."

Not forgetting we have the SCSA series which runs to ASA Pro Tour regs, and races exclusively at Rockingham, Northants. If we can get some series backing next year, we aim to go back to Lausitz (Eurospeedway) again.

The fastest racing in Europe www.scsaracing.com

On the subject of dirt oval racing, the closest we have to it here is NASA or SEGTO Autograss racing. I tried, without success, to get them to agree to me running a Late Model dirt racer in the unlimited class (10), but they found so many obstacles to put in my way, that they didn't even want me to do "demonstration" runs to entertain the crowd.

The Camso V8's ran at Lydden last year as part of the Lydden festival (on a programme that included saloons on the full circuit, Truck on the 3/4 circuit and then Camsos and bangers on the Oval).

I was googling the CAMSO series, and came across these two pictures, and, there is something weird going on.

WTF BMW bodyshell?

Those are Renault Clio tails on the one closest to shot, and Mustang taillights on the second closest, what gives?

The CAMSO people let all sorts of things in! Looknig at the cars in that pic, most of them are lefthander type offset chassis.

And the Clio tails are probably a case of "they'll do" rather than have nothing.

Rob.

The decal kits get ordered with the bodies. Trouble is, they dont always seem to make it to the container! We are not required to run any lights at all but most people like them so, as Rob says, anything will do. Most of the chassis are Lefthander. Though mine is a Tanner. Again as Rob says, you can use any chassis you wish. The BMW? Haven't a clue! I have never seen it. It looks to me like one of those Spedeworth V8s they did a while back.

We use the same ASA tour cars that the scsa series is using. The ASA cars work great for road racing.
For series schedule, results go to www.v8stockcar.com
