Brazilian Grand Prix - Predictions Contest 2022 - Round 21 of 22 - Results

Congratulations to steve_r on winning the Brazilian Grand Prix (and to TrapezeArtist on winning the Sprint). As you can see, it was an enthralling round, with many people finishing close together on points and some high scorers due to the sprint.

steve_r becomes the person with the most wins, now on a total of five.

What happened at Interlagos

Nobody predicted Russell to win the Grand Prix or the Sprint.

Nobody predicted anyone in the correct positions for the top three in qualifying.

Nobody predicted Sainz to finish on the podium, apart from TrapezeArtist who had him in 2nd.

Everybody except three competitors (TrapezeArtist, smellysocks and BTCC frog) put Hamilton on the podium.

Three people (crmalcolm, Aysedasi and Gnussi) predicted Russell would score a third consecutive fastest lap.

Despite McLaren's fastest pit stop in Mexico, I was the only one to choose them for fastest pit stop this time round. Everyone else opted for the bulls.

Everyone but four people correctly forecast dry weather for the Grand Prix, TrapezeArtist, Beau2 and myself choosing mixed and Born Racer Fan choosing wet conditions.

Four people, steve_r, chunterer, smellysocks and BTCC frog, got 9 out of the top 10 finishers correct, all missing Stroll. steve_r put Norris in there, BTCC frog and chunterer both put Vettel in there and smellysocks had Gasly on his list.

Stroll did not feature in anyone's top 10 list.

steve_r, TrapezeArtist, smellysocks, Gnussi and I all managed to predict Hamilton for formula1.com Driver of the Day.

Nobody guessed that Russell would win Driver of the Grand Prix.

steve_r, Aysedasi, me, Born Racer Fan, wolfhound and Gnussi all guessed Mercedes would get Team of the Grand Prix.

Aysedasi, TrapezeArtist, chunterer, Born Racer Fan, wolfhound all predicted the Rate the Grand Prix score of 7. Only Gnussi predicted an 8 (which was also one of the scores).

Nobody had a driver as many places out of position in their top 10 as six, so no-one got just one point for any driver in the Grand Prix. Likewise, nobody had a driver as many places out of position in their Sprint finishers as six, so nobody scored just two points or one point for any driver in that race.

crmalcolm and TrapezeArtist had the highest number of Sprint finishers (with seven out of the eight), with everyone missing Magnussen. Everyone got at least six finishers.

Notso Swift should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
"Stroll did not feature in anyone's top 10 list."

This is not indicative of the GP
