What Do You Do ???
Okay this is kinda an off topic/on topic thing ..... But when your designing tracks what music to you listen to ???? for me its a mixture of music ..... if Im in a mood to rip the track up then I like to listen to sex pistols or something heavy ...... BUT if i want a nice flowing track I like to listen to Bob Marley, Rastafarian man !!! . But What about the rest of you do when your coming up with tracks ????

Now, while we've got music on topic, how many of you play an instrument?

I'm with P, don't listen to music when designing tracks. Although, maybe that's something to try in the future
I play keyboard and guitar, but now got my eye on starting drums, now that I realise just how popular and unoriginal a choice guitar is, at least around these parts |

Sometimes I may be listening to music while I design a track, sometimes I'm just listening to the whirring of my computer's fans.
But when I am listening to music, it's usually anything off my Winamp playlist, with stuff from: Rammstein Ra Idlewld Alice Cooper Coheed and Cambria and a few songs from Gran Turismo 4. |

Well, I don't actually design tracks like the rest of everybody here, I build tracks for the late GeneRally and just lurk here in search of ideas to swipe... But anyway, I build those tracks under the influence of, oddly enough, remixes of Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6 music. Don't ask me why...

I can listen to anything... However, I feel at best listening to slow music, mainly trance...
I get some of my songs from Overclocked Remix. They have remixes of songs from games... Some of them are VERY good ... |

And it's not dead. There's still part of the GR community at the temporary RSC forums at Vader Trophy. P.S.: Sometime within the next 24 hours or so, I'm going to post up a challenge, so no one post another until then, ok? |

LOL.
I guess I may as well add what music I do listen to when I'm not designing tracks. Deep Purple, Thunder, The Doors, Queen, R.E.M., Led Zeppelin, Guns n' Roses are on the list. Yes, its all old stuff, but I'd rather tie my balls to the wheel of a London bus than listen to what's in th charts at the moment. |

A very slight bit of the danish music scene is actually very, very good, but it gets overshadowed by pop and by international stars.

Well, the nineties was really a great period of music. If i should make my top five of songs it would prolly be:
Eagle Eye Cherry - Save Tonight Oasis - Wonderwall Lifehouse - Hanging By A Moment Oasis - Stop Crying Your Heart Out U2 - Beautiful Day all from the nineties or early 2000's. |

The Rasmus have made one good song, In The Shadows, which was good for about a month. Then you got tired of it.
