Oulton Park
Just been on the Marshals Forum and the opinion there is that the new Pits Complexe at Oulton Park is a big improvement. Not finished yet though.

from the pictures in MN it looked very impressive and futeristic. Also by all accounts the new track improvements seem to of been welcomed by all.
Now a bit controversial i know but, in my opinion Oulton is the best track which the BTCC visits. this is based on racing and for spectators etc. you can get quite close to the track and good close racing is gaurenteed, the facilities there are very good and with these added improvments I think that Oilton will reveal it's self to be Britains no 1 Racing circuit in britain. |

Yes we (manicmarshal) and I like it. In the middle of the lovely countryside. We camp on the infield site and eat out in the evening at the Hungry Horse. Only Marshalled at Lodge corner so far. Asking for trouble I know, but would like to do Old Hall sometime.

there aren't many tracks where you can see large parts of the ciruit from on position! If you sit by knickerbrook chicane you can see everyone some out of the first corner and head off up to island, then you see them come down hilltop and through knickerbrook before disappearing off under the bridge! most tracks only let you see a coupkle of corners at most!

I've always found the Brands Indy circuit the best as from the Paddock enclosure you can see the whole track and, as a result, there is never a dull moment. However, and this is getting into the realms of sad but stick with me, Outon Park has always been my favourite track on the various Playstation games. That was until TOCA Driver came out... it's too damn easy now. But my point, if ever I had one, is that I've always found that I appreciate a track much more if I have raced it virtually... you get a feel for it, know what the drivers are thinking while coming up to Old Hall and so on. A truly tough circuit as far as my fingers are concerned. The double apex at Druids is as slippery to PS players as it is to Cleland... dare you take it flat out? Never been to OP myself... for a day it is a bit too far to drive, close to fly and sod getting a train. But it is a wonderful thing, challenged only by Croft.

it's always classed as a drivers circuit and if you took a poll I'm sure that most of the drivers would say that it is their favourite track.
But you'll never beat me on oulton on toca 1,2 or driver. When i'm in that 147, doing a handbrake turn round the shell hairpin!! quality. |

There's been a couple of topics elsewhere on the forums that cover this, try http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...5&pagenumber=1 or to blatantly steal a link from the Oulton topic in the Marshalling forum, have a look at http://www.brsccnw.com/ and the pics in the "Behind the Scenes" section. I think there's just one shot in there showing the changes being made at Knickerbrook.

Speaking of good vantage points... I'm off to Mondello for the first time. Anyone got any tips? And as for nipping round Oulton in a 147 to take the flag - not very realistic is it.... Those Pugs take some beating too if you knock up the difficulty percentage. TOCA Driver's not exactly simulation in every respect. Mind, Anthony Reid seems to drive as dirty as ever!!! And he used to be such a nice man.

At Mondello, I found (last year) a few good places, On the outside of Hewlett Packard, (first corner) you see them coming toward and going away from you and there's ussually a lot of incidents.
On the outside of dunlop, (last corner) outside of paddock where you can see them close to you there turn around and see them both at daly's draft birranes bend and turns 7a and 7b. Having been round Mondello in a touring car lola is hairy and fast but you can't stand there.# Ps. you had to pay 5 euro's to get in the paddock last year, and extra for the seats!! |

Oh and last year there were no clio's or FRenault
These were replaced by Dunlop RT2000 (which were very similar to "T" cars) and Formula Ireland. |

Cheers Joey. Tickets are now on sale on the net by the way: €40 (£27.40 - Two Day Entry Ticket Sunday/Monday) but that doesn't include seating, that's an extra €5 and, if I'm reading their website correctly, paddock entry (transfer) is €3 per day as you say.
