CSCC 2023 regs - some changes
CSCC announced their 2023 series regs yesterday and there have been some changes to most series, some changes are greater than others.
I won’t go in to the details of all the changes here but I expect that the series that are of most interest to the readership here are “Swinging Sixties”, “Classic K” and “Future Classics”. An overview can be found here: https://www.classicsportscarclub.co....0-d299d78012d7 And the detailed regs for each series can be found here: https://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk/series I suppose the most significant changes for Swinging Sixties and Future Classics is that pre 1978 cars that are less than 2 litres and on original induction will now be able to enter Swinging Sixties in their own class. They will also remain eligible for Future Classics but there will no longer be a separate 1970s class. I think the feeling is that these cars are generally outclassed in Future Classics and have much more in common (inc performance, technology and architecture) with the Swinging Sixties cars. I am sure that will be a subject for debate! The overview and regs also highlight some changes to tyres and the fact that Continental are going to produce a tyre that is supposed to be similar to the Dunlop historic tyres and therefore eligible for Classic K. |

Andy - the way I read it, any pre-'78 seventies models will be eligible to race with Swinging Sixties group 2, as long as they meet the rules and run carbs.
But if they're under two litres, then they'll run in class 'O', the class for group 1 cars having a second race with group 2. Above two litres, and they run in the relevant group 2 class for the engine size. At least, that's my understanding of it having read what's in the definition of the classes for Swinging Sixties group 2 on the regulations page of the CSCC website. Entirely possible I've misinterpreted it though... |

Thanks for the reply. I have re-read the regs and the overview and I think you are correct and I was wrong, although it’s isnt crystal clear! |

Starting to be some mutterings on the socials complaining about the change for most of the series to minimum-timed (1m 30s) pitstops, although Swinging 60s are staying as "fast as you can".......
