Qualifying and TV idiocy
It has occured to me over the last few races that the TV company's coverage of F1 raceday is a bit of a sham.
Take Silverstone and Hockenheim for example, McLarens at the back of the pack for both races. Now the whole idea of one shot qualifying is the chance that a fast car might bin it, and be forced to the back of the grid, making them fight their way through the pack on Sunday. So whats the point of having this qualifying setup if the TV cameras don't even follow the fast car through the pack on Sunday? We barely saw any of Montoya's fight through the pack. The same goes for Rubens at Magny-Cours, back of the grid, saw nothing. |

The coverage is done by local TV crews at each race, so the fact that we've had 3 relatively poor ones in succession is purely coincidental. The French director has always had a poor reputation in particular.

he didn't really fight though the pack did he ??
he got to 9th place in a couple of laps . and then waited for the pitstops

Rather than bemoaning the amount of missed action, we should be grateful that there was so much action... and you're right Dani, JPM made very few overtaking moves in practice.

I understand your point 100%. I guess they have to please everybody and show a selection of the action. As far as iam concerned they should have used JPM's on board camera to provide us with some thrilling coverage at the German GP......after all up at the front its all spread out and nothing happening

Its happened a few times this season and last, the Hockenheim race was just the most recent example.
