D'Alberto to HRT?
Whispers from the Winton powder room suggest that there may be a seat available in the prestigious HRT operation in season 2011 and beyond
It seems that one of the two drivers is out of contract at season's end, and that remaining with the outfit is not the preferred option. This allegedly opens up a possibility at HRT. Presumably the 2 pilots in the BRR squad would be looked at carefully to determine whether they were suitable for that role, but to be honest they havent shone at all! One of them is not likely to finish the season, maybe not even making it to Darwin Anyway, back to the story, Mr D'Alberto seems to have fired a shot across the bows, suggesting that driving for TDR on going is no lay down misere. Presumably the next pilot would have to bring sponsorship, as I would be surprised if the D'Alberto family businesses would be comfortable paying for another driver's recreation! Story Here Does this make sense? Mr D'Alberto has matured out of sight this year, the influence of the WP engineering staff has shown massive (TM Whincup) improvements over past years, with very little hardware change to the car. |

yep Tony is on fire and he wouldn't be out of place in a HRT car on current form and has strong links with Holden and Walkinshaw. he is a great bloke and it's great to see him go so well.

Jeez, GTR, you know everything (within the confines of the powder room, of course).

Tony needs a current spec car to show what he can really do , what he is doing in the 3-4-5 year old chassis at presnt is very impressive indeed.
I'd like to see him get a shot with HRT or David Reynolds , who despite losing his drive for 2010 is still a very VERY quick driver |

Thompson certainly showed what he could do with a car when the go-fast bits were bolted on with DJR in the dev series, and at PWR, so whats happened when he is in a car the should have the go-fast bits attached? or did the Bathurst incident dry up the funds too much? or is Sir Tom just taking the $$ without investing it in the team?
seems weird that Reynolds who showed he could drive the car, was dropped for someone with money, who previously showed he can drive in a car that has the speed, but the car is now nowhere near as good. 1 + 2 should not equal 0 |

he also went very well in the enduro's last year at times outpacing D'Alberto. you've only got to look over the other side of the BRR garage and maybe a walk up the lane to HRT to see there is something wrong in that stable, on top of that Tony is beating all of them but GT in the championship in his small underfunded team with the oldest VE from that stable & in the field. Fabian excelled in 08 & 09 in a small underfunded team, Will was very strong last year and GT was up there too, this year something is very wrong down Clayton way.

I have it on good authority that Bright is going back to HRT.
