Just out of curiosity...
Lets say there is an LM2 designed car set up for the 04 and so on rules.
Would not a 3.6L Ferrari V8 (completely legal, even UNDER the homologation numbers) from a 360 be a killer weapon? At Laguna seca the best 360 lap was a 1:29. The best lap for the Pilbeam was a 1:21. The Ferrari weighs 1100kg The Pilbeam weighs 690kg. Whattya think, is 400kg worth 8 secs? We know the ferrari is fast and reliable. Anyone wanna fund a B04/40 with a redhead in the back? |

Perfect idea ; but are the engines for sale ? Or do you think the team should have to take it out of a Modena ?

The Ferrari racing department sells the engines to teams participating in the various 360 Challenge series around the world, and runs the Michelotto version.
Only issue seems to be that they require a Ferrari chassis number to supply the powerplants.... |
