New Renualt Engine Info...

Hi Guys,

just found this lot at the Mild Seven site:





I'm not sure if any of you guys have seen it before, quite a good insight. Apparently, the wide exhausts are killing the airflow around the coke-bottle shape because the bodywork has to be wider to accomodate them.

sweet man..ill go check it out.they have been having some tech notations from Tugawa on Autorace.com which i use for general F1 news.

i think i used to check out that site which was basically the official benetton site when Jean Alesi was there...and had special comments by Ukyo Katayama.....

Hang on, why would Benetton release such usually top-secret info?? I mean, it's basically telling the other teams their weaknesses and what needs to be done to improve them!

I read a very good article on Racecar Engineering
on this subject of wide-angles engine. It appears that one of the problems is the exhaust routing.
Why not bite the bullet and route them above
the engine as displayed on that article?
The guy was really excited about the benefits!
...but maybe not all of them are easy to
implement...
