Veteran American motorsports broadcaster Steve Evans passed away this week from an apparent heart attack. Evans has hosted and broadcasted some of the mosts popular televised motor sports in America since the mid 1970s. He was also the editor of National Dragster for a number of years. After The Nashville Network was sold, Evans moved on to Speedvision and became the pitside reporter for the American LeMans Series. He also continued to handle pitside broadcasts for Diamond P Sports in their coverage of the Pennzoil World of Outlaws.
My condolences go out to his family, friends and co-workers. |

I never got to see any of Steve's work on the ALMS but I have seen him several times on the little coverage of Sprintcars we get here in Oz and I must say he definately enjoyed his job and did an excellent job and I quite liked the bloke by the way he presented himself as well.
my condolances go out to his family he will surely be missed. |
