Looks like a Honda track, with only Eaves down the order. Breeze is in the sole GA Astra, ahead of Hodgetts in their Alfa. Bentwood's back in 13th, one place ahead of Hughes, higher than usual for Kartworld.

Interesting Qually!! Kaye did a good job of getting P3...Hondas are doing very well here as the lowest starting one is 9th. Top 16 covered by 1 second, the newer 307 couldn't beat the longer wheel base 406...Reid down in 15th (might play the system tomorrow?) and it looks like an exciting race tomorrow with Muller and Tommo near the front.

Looking good for the Hondas, I hope to see those WSR cars in 9th and 10th for race 1... nice bit of weight lost and front row for race 2!
Well done to kaye, hope he can get a good finishing position, he and his team deserve it! |

The times are extremely close, one slight msitake could've moved a driver down from 3rd to 15th, so all we can really read into it is that the races should be great. All the game, good showings from Hodgetts and Kaye, and a lot of top drivers are well down the field and will be aiming for 10th.

Looking forward to a very interesting day's racing tomorrow.
Lets hope Reid can come out with the biggest points haul of the weekend - I want to see him take this title.] And it'd be great to see James Kaye win a race. |

Same here, would be great if Reid could take the title and the indy title! I think Reid is one of the most improved drivers this year even though some of his 'moves' have got him into trouble. Would be great for the sport, WSR, MG and Reid if they can take the fight to VX during the final rounds. I take it Reid now has the money to finish the season?

Off to Brands in the morning. Gonna be focusing my eyes on Reid trying to snatch 10th off Plato, who's managed to qualify in it too!...gonna be interesting to watch a race where a driver tries not to pass anyone at the start! (And falls back a position everytime one of the top 9 retires )
Kaye's set a safe claim on the driver of the day award before the day's begun - though it could all go wrong pretty quickly with the other VX's just behind him, I think he's got a tough position to hold. Huff & Hodgetts on the same row in the ETCC cars - cracking looking race one - and there's too more after that we can't pre-empt from the grid! I'll take my coat - if I'm lucky, it'll rain too! |

Synchro
At last the boys from Swindon with James Kaye have got what they have been seeking since they won the Production Class. Looks good for them tomorrow. Not bad for a bunch of part-timers. Shows the big boys they are not always unbeatable.

Race 1:
Neal Muller Thompson Kaye *well done!* Shaun Watson-Smith in a very respectable 8th place, from Plato and Bentwood in 9th and 10th. Turkington 11th and Reid 13th, dissapointing for the MG's but hopefully running with no ballast should help in race 2. have to congratulate SWS on backing off when Hodgetts tried to squeeze him against the pit wall, thats the only thing I'd fault Stefan on doing, it was plain stupid. COuld of been a very big accident. Hodgetts crashed off next lap, looked pretty heavy damage. |

At least Reidy will be near Thompson and Muller on the grid, and with less ballast.
Poetic justice for Hodgetts after what he did, too. |

A great race three, won by Huff, ahead of Plato and Bentwood.
First class entertainment, action packed. And, importantly as it was on ITV, for a wider audience, a highly enjoyable and interesting show, heroes and villans, edge of the seat stuff. Marvellous. Well done Alan Gow. |

Yes, very impressive final lap of Race 3! ITV/Motors TV did well to catch all the action - Huff did well to take the lead as Muller, Plato and Neal were fighting over the same piece of track. Bentwood also should get credit for some good driving on that final lap - maybe made up for the pole he lost earlier in the day and what happened to him last time out at Brands. BTCC classic!

The first two races were nothing special, but race 3 was something of a thriller, with a thoroughly awesome final lap - first Neal tagged Plato in Paddock, allowing Muller ahead, then he and Plato rubbed bodywork and Huff darted through, before Muller tangled with Reid.
Despite it all, Muller has a bigger lead now, with Reid basically out of contention after a nightmare weekend. Thompson's great job in race 2 largely proved to be in vain. |

I've a picture of the move that decided the second race, but am unable to post attachments according to the little box on forum rules. Anyone got any ideas why I can't post picture, I've done so in the past?
It was a good race with a very eciting "do or die manoeuvre" on the run douwn from Paddock Hill. All round good weekend for racing, good weather & good crowd. Last edited by bgeorge104; 22 Aug 2004 at 19:08. |

Its the mods trying to resolve the 'server too busy' problem that's blighting the smooth running of the forum.
Race 3 was great! Excellent stuff, races 1 and 2 were okay.. but its harsh to compare them to the excellent Knockhill racing that we had! Well done to Huff for getting the win, long overdue! |
