Nurburgring 1000Km Practice Thread
I have just seen the times from the 1st session from the Nurburgring on DSC and there are 1 or suprises.
The Creation Zytek was quickest overall, followed by the Goh Audi and the Pescarolo Car and the Lister was 4th. The 2 Audi Uk cars where in 8th and 10th. 5th Quickest and Fastest in LMP2 was the works Courage. 9th Fastest and quickest in GT was the JWR Porsche. The Labre Ferrari was quickest in GTS and was 17th overall. From what DSC have said in the quick report the weather is wet and cold. |

who would be surprised to see team creation on top?the car is well prepared ,a very good driver lineup and hey this car is made for downforce circuits.
Why is audi struggling to beat Dyson in the ALMS wheras RML MG is nowhere in LeMans or monza? The audi is not really a highdownforce car or bettter it is not very efficient when run with high downforce configs. Additionally there´s not much in terms of kerbs at the nurburgring a main advantage of the audis. So the weather is not the deciding factor,Creation has the legs on them on concept. If they won´t let the ball drop, they surely will trounce the Audis... Lister sporting a highdownforce concept is doing well also, but their car is more like a truck compared to the DBA...and the ring is more about finesse and subtlety and really not about muscling or wrestling the car to get a good time. |

The suprise IMO was not that the Creation car was quickest, we know it is quick look at the Zytek. But the Audi UK cars are of the pace and that the JWR Porsche was 9th quickest overall in front of some very big names.

Second practice times are up and the Rollcentre Dallara didn't post a time. Anyone got info on this?
As for the rest, we got UK, Creation, Goh, UK, Pesca. The times seem more normal and not as chaotic as in the first session, so I take it either it stopped raining or is raining less. Last edited by Cadete; 2 Jul 2004 at 12:35. |

Well looking at those times it looks like normal service as been resumed. I have now typed up the times and will upload them when I get home as I am unable to do this from work.

Damn shame. Is he on DTM duty this weekend? I'm thinking not, in which case it's a terrible waste.
