Commentry dream team
If you could pick any of the former ex drivers (enduro guys as well), that would be great at motorsport commentary - who would that be ?
This is not to bag the 7 commentators, but as a hypothetical exercise. |

Crompton, Larkam and Brad Jones. (Skaife would do if he's not available).

Anyone who can do the job, JUST as long as they are not bias towards a driver and Holden.
But Cromly, Jones, Larko, MS...........But they are bias towards certain teams & drivers tho |

Good points fellas, but if you couldn't have Skaife, Jones, Crompton and Larko, who would you have? Would Seton get a gig, or someone like Ritter, Besnard, or Simon Wills?

I'd add Dick Johnson into that list as well, he seems to have a fairly dry sense of humour.

Ex-drivers are all very well, but there's surely a place for experts like Aaron Noonan - not (necessarily) aligned to any team or maker, articulate and well-versed in the sport's technical and sporting sides. Crompton is my first choice, every day of the week. Brad Jones yes. Skaife, yes, Larkham yes (very good on the technical explanations). As a former on-course commentator, it's hard not to have a bias sometimes; occasionally you get people you just can't warm to. Kramer |

Get rid of Skaife, he was just a 888 advertisement today, cringeworthy.

Send Skaife out to get coffee for the boys when the race starts.
What was that "..bump-bump-bump-$1000-$2000-$3000.." dribble he was going on with in race 1 yesterday? |

It was implying that each bump would cost $1000 in damage. Probably about right, actually. No matter what we think of Skaife the human being, he's a very smart bloke. KRamer |

All good points, but I dont want this to go down as a 7 bash. Is there any retired/enduro drivers that would make a good motorsport commentator that isnt doing it alreday?

box: Noonz, Crompo, Cam McConk
pitlane: MS, Larko Cam McConk is a good commentator IMO and knows recent V8's without being abit of a loony like MS. so i'd demote MS to the lane in place of Beretta to get McConk in the box. |

His commentating woes woefull this weekend. How many time did he say someone had passed a car, only to find out they hadn't. I gave up counting after 10. Bloody disgrace. |

I think you should be sending your CV in to the production team and give it a shot. They need a bit of comedy in the commentary team. |

no.
Noonz = neither. Crompo = Holden & Ford (althought there is "Holden Power" ). Cam McConk = mostly Holden but has driven Ford. MS = red. Larko = blue, this weekend was the first time he has driven a Commodore. i'd say thats a decent mix. |

Anyone want to consider some of the guys working slightly outside of the V8 spotlight for roles?
Guys like Grant Boyden and Richard Craill? |

The problem, in my opinion of course, is that too many commentators these days are hell bent on yelling at us, rather than commentating to us, and telling us every bit of action (no matter if its boring or not) is the best thing they've ever seen.
