Small-engined openwheelers and Clubmans.
There used to be a very good Formula 3 in Australia, 1300cc single cam production based engines, no minimum weight limit... it produced some lovely cars, nicely balanced. Then again, I was talking to Bob Britton last night, builder of the Rennmax cars of the sixties and seventies. He was saying he always hated putting such a heavy thing as a cast iron block into a frame he could toss around by himself... his thoughts lie with the many motorcycle engines of today, four cylinder 1000cc units weighing very little.... Kind of a new-millenium F3... nice thought. |

Karting, Formula ford, Formula 3 and 3000 and Formula Holden. I love open wheel racing it is simply superb and I enjoy the junior classes just as much as F1 or Champcars. |
