Superbike 2002
Ruben Xuas was fastest in Friday Qualifying, pipping Bayliss to the fastest time. Haga was third fastest and Edwards forth, but upto seven riders were under Corsers year old lap record. Hogson was beaten by Toseland, who finished 8th and 7th respectfully. No sign of Waler though!

Bostrom is hungrier than ever and is tired of messin' around. He is going to kick butt and get his first championship.

i want Haga to win.
I was never a fan of his when he was in superbikes last time, but have grown to like him after a dificult year in GP's That said, the man he will have to beat is Troy B, that guy is very focused (I think the most focused of anyone) he wants the double then ride to the 4stoke MOTOGP Ducati to glory! He CAN make it happen! |

I'm glad Haga is out there. You can always count on him to make the sparks fly! Probably the best rider Japan has ever produced.

Haga is such a character,he was brill to watch.I can see him setting a few sparks flying over the season. While on the podium he said to Suzi he only put in 80% effort(with a smile on his face!!)We need more riders like him.

As much as I would like either Hodgson or Toseland to win it. I think Troy Bayliss will.

I tell you what, I was well-impressed with the Stalker. Considering the problems he's had and the fact the Kawasaki isn't up to scratch, he went tremendously well.
Bayliss, Bostrom, Haga, and, loathe as I am to admit it, Edwards could all win the title this year. I just hope we have a fair fight and not a farce like 2000. |

I was exceptionally disapointed in Rubens. It took him all last year to get his act together, and then he did, in style. Now he's right back to square one!
His superpole was a joke, and then in the races he did no better. He's bound to fling the bike down the road a few times this year, too. I don't think he has a cat in hell's chance! Anyway, my money's on my man Nori. I missed him. |

Is it just me, or are the racers in WSB the most professional and positive racers of any motor racing series. They provide some of the most spectacular levels of control in motor racing. They truly enjoy what they do and it shows.

Yes Redneck, I agree too, most of them are so down to earth and have there heads screwed on.I think if they don't enjoy it then they just can't race(does that make sense?)

This is how the season will go...
Haga V Bayliss, Bostrom & Edwards do a mid season stormer, Hodgson wins at Donnington or Brands, Chili wins at Monza, then the main attraction will be the Dukes and Haga |

I don't think Franki's bike will be fast enough at Monza to be a realistic contender. He's more likely to go well at Donnington.
As we saw last year, Hodgson was a contender at places like the Laustitzring, too. I don't think it's fair to write him off as a one-track-wonder. He's not the only rider to only go really well at the tracks he likes. |

Colin Edwards and Ben Bostrom will have a good battle this year but it's gotta be Bayliss for the crown again.
In my heart i want Hodgson or Toseland to storm it but as much as it hurts to say it...not a chance. Sob!! |

Well, you can't expect him to do worse than last year - where a top 6 was always on the cards. If he rides consistently and wins at the tracks he goes well at, the bike and money are better this year and the mechanicals he had last year (such as Monza) shouldn't be such a factor.
The British tracks, Laguna and the Laustitzring are all possibilities for wins. Jamie hasn't got any excuses this year - he's had a year to settle in and stuff. It was good that he was as fast as Neil until he fell off, so I'm not going to write him off. I'd like to see the Stalker get a couple of good results. Personally, I never felt he was ultimately as fast as neil on a good day, but he's damned quick - shame the bike isn't as quick as its riders, Walker and Izutsu. Podium in Britain though, I shouldn't wonder. |
