Red Bull: Unbullievable
Are they back? Based on the last four or so racing - yes they are!
The driver is there now. The car does the business and the engine has improved enough to not stop this. Do they need anymore? What do they need? Soon Max will be destroying all in from him and no longer will F1 be boring because of Mercedes dominance, it will be boring because of Red Bull dominance. Or will it? We have a thread for all the teams except Red Bull, so I thought I'd complete the set. There is a Honda thread which has dealt with Red Bull, but also more generally. |

I hope they are half front
While it is true that the Honda propulsion unit in the back is doing a great job pushing the car towards success at the end of grand prix, it may not be Red Bull being back as being the only reason for the success. The front and parts of the back drawn by that English fellow with the 2B pencil and set square may have contributed to this seemingly overlooked front as well. |

Well they certainly seem more organised than Ferrari. And that means they've made the most of their opportunities presented to themselves. This is just what F1 needs at this time

Certainly I think the guy with pencil is the difference between Red Bull and the rest and agree a win at Spa, Max's home race, would be worth a punt so long as all the orange we will see does not dazzle him
Looking forward to that one |

Actually he’s Belgian on his mother’s side, so it can be classed as his home race

He has a Belgian mother, but he is Dutch.
He doesn't identify as Belgian, and apart from his mother there is nothing Belgian about Max himself. You could as well call Lance Stroll Belgian since he has a Belgian mother too. |

No matter what the actual facts of his lineage are there will be so many Dutch fans at Spa it will seem like his home race |

There is nothing Belgian left now (apart from things in his past) While he was born in Belgium, went to school early on in Belgium, and had the Dutch and Belgian nationality as a kid, he had the opportunity (or was obliged?) to chose either Dutch or Belgian nationality when he turned 18. As predicted by his parents, he chose the Dutch nationility since he felt more Dutch than Belgian, and "Belgium was only a place to sleep" at that time. There was an item on the Belgian TV about Max last year and one of the things was about his nationality. One of the other things that he mentioned was that all people who surrounded him (management) where Dutch or international, none were Belgian. Added to his own feelings about being Dutch or Belgian, that made the choice rather easy. Max Verstappen identifies as, and races under the nationality of, Dutch. That is not in dispute.
The query arose over whether Spa is his (current) home GP. It was suggested that, for a person who is half Belgian and was born in Belgium, and races under the Dutch flag, if Spa is not his home race then where is? |

If we consider him pure Dutch like he does himself (now), then currently he has no home GP, just like Raikkonen, Bottas, Magnussen and Kubica. Sure, the Belgian GP is close(st) to his home, and may be the closest to a home GP he can get in 2019. I'm quite sure though that he will call Zandvoort his home GP in 2020, and not Spa. |

Really?
Then probably we have a different understanding of what home GP means? For me that would be the GP in the driver's nation, so: British GP for Hamilton, Norris and Russell French GP for Grosjean and Gasly German GP for Vettel and Hülkenberg Australian GP for Ricciardo Monaco GP for Leclerc Russian GP for Kvyat Mexican GP for Perez Canadian GP for Stroll Italian GP for Giovinazzi Spanish GP for Sainz None for Verstappen, Bottas, Raikkonen, Albon, Kubica and Magnussen |

We consider Alexander Albon one of ours, even if he races under a Thai licence, as he is half British
