Mixed weekend - Graeme Wight was spectating but not competing.
First run off went to Paul Haimes on a low 38's - very respectable time and I think Ben Butterfield went 2nd - can't remember the rest - too busy blethering. Changeable weather really mixed things up for the 2nd run off. It rained suddenly about half way through the single seater class runs and many of the big cars didn't qualify for the run off - the double entries got a dry run so the top three qualifiers were William Mason, Allan Warburton and Willem Toet. Stopped raining between class runs and run-offs and some interesting tyre combinations got used (wets on front, slicks at back) Allan had a spin in the Tunnel and was lucky to get away with a dinged front wing and a slightly bent steering arm. 2nd was William Mason! - great drive from the young lad and Willem took the top place with what looked from the start like a good, controlled and intelligent drive. |
