BTCC rounds 13, 14, 15 - Croft
Wahay - it's my almost local circuit. Just the 3 and a half hours to get there, and I absolutely cannot wait.
Traditionally it's a BMW circuit, but the RWD, weightless Subarus should go well too. Here's my predictions. A BMW will win at least 1 race 962 fan will blame the RWD advantage It will threaten to rain all day Saturday Adam Morgan will go well Gordon Shedden will be the best FWD driver It will be windy Dan Cammish will win both PCCGB races Sam Tordoff will not be leading the Championship heading into the summer break We will get another first win of 2016 from someone I will sleep for a long time on Monday |

Their argument is almost the same as Plato had prior to Oulton Park - 'we have a great chassis, but can't compete on the straight'. What they are really doing is getting a message to the press that reads positive about the team/car/support, but attempts to provide as many other excuses as possible for a failure to get results. From any front running team, you will hear how they have the best package, but something outside of their control is holding them back or assisting others. |

Agreed. As you say, it's mainly a PR game when it comes to boost, FWD/RWD, weight complaints. We live in an age of 32 cars on a grid all looking to please sponsors. The pressure to perform must be intense when businesses are spending chunks of change to get decent exposure.

Just a quick comment to anyone sitting on the fence about visiting Croft or not. I visited for the first time last season and few places let you get this to close to such a mix of corner types and fast bits. One of the best tracks to spectate at IMHO.

At Oulton Park - MPH positions, Qualy - Turkington 12,14,22 - Plato 10,21,24 - Jordan 5,11,8 - Jackson 27,29,31 R1 - Turkington 30,23,31 - Plato 11,14,26 - Jordan 14,7,12 - Jackson 27,27,18 (48kgs ballast) R2 - Turkington 32,27,31 - Plato 26,25,27 - Jordan 6,8,7 - Jackson 13,11,8 R3 - Turkington 29, 26,28 - 19,24,27 - Jordan 13,8,12 - 22,14,15 Obviously tyre choices and ballast affect the speeds, but in R2 the Motorbase cars were in the top 10 speeds consistently, with BMRs (and Hondas) being amongst the slowest out there. |

On every other occasion, the Eurotech speed was not bettered by either Halfords car. |

Jordan - Chrome livery to celebrate three-year sponsorship deal. Both colours are based around the sponsorship, and have achieved the aim of getting more publicity. |

Tordoff's livery is very smart indeed. I liked Jordan's because of it's chrome effect, but that matte silver might just top it. Classy.

Two individual cars in different colours, in different years, could hardly be called an obsession?
Surely the question should be 'what is the obsession with white?' - BMR, WSR, Handy, Motorbase, BKR, 888, Speedworks, Power Maxed. Or, 'what is the obsession with red?' - AMD, Eurotech. Or, 'what is the obsession with yellow?' - WIX, Dextra. |
