Not so fast!
The calendar shows nineteen possible dates, rather than nineteen events. The teams would have to agree to it being more than seventeen. We'll have to wait until the final schedule comes out in September. If it is nineteen, that'll be this year's events plus Turkey. |

That is correct, Tamas, but Turkey has a deal in place for next year, the others don't.

Really! I've heard something about, but if it is not organized, than which circuit will replace it?

The 19th race is Turkey. If Imola misses out the replacement race will be in Europe at an unnamed venue. The Grumpy1 P.S. The teams have already agreed to 19 races in 05 and 20 in 06.Testing days will be cut by 4 days a year I belive. Last edited by grumpy1; 1 Jul 2004 at 00:06. |

Re: F1 calendar for 05' shows 19 events.
Imola should be done away with, as should all naff circuits if Grand Prix racing wants to be respected more in motorsport as a whole.
I agree with increasing the calendar by a few races however (18-22 ish) with less testing. But the season should not be saturated in too many races. |

I'd rather get rid of Hungary than Imola, but what right does Italy and Germany have to stage 2 races a year anyway?

IMHO it's fully unfair too that some countries (Italy and Germany) have the right to organise 2 races a year while there are a lot of other lands that would do everything to have an own formula one race.
The "rights" of these two countries: The grand prix in Imola belongs to San Marino; The race on the Nürburgring is organised as European GP, which has been already found in England as well. |
