If you can get your hands on a copy, the BIBLE of motor racing sponsorship is...
"Sponsorship and the world of Motor Racing" Author: Guy Edwards. Publisher: Hazleton He was an F1 driver in the '70's, but made serious money as a sponsorship agent. Rumoured to have concluded deals totalling over $150 million, of which he earned 10%. Don't worry that it is 13 years old (published in 1992), the information is both timeless and priceless. |

It's a bit like those mail order classified ads that proclaim... "I am a multi-millionaire! Send me £50 and I'll show you why" Joking aside, he got some amazing deals together, especially in the days when he was sponsorhip manager for Lotus. He certainly seems to know his stuff, the book was originally priced at £120 back in 1992, I got a copy from Ebay for $88 & S+H from a bookseller in New York who obviously didn't know the 'real' value of the book. Happy Days!!! |
