Are The Young Lions Figuring It Out?

Looking at the results from Nazareth, it seems that the less experienced racers may be starting to make a charge on the older and more experienced racers. Scott Dixon takes the win, Michel Jourdain Jr. qualified and ran well before spinning, Oriol Servia kept the fledgling Sigma team near the front all day and Bruno Junqueria finished in the top 10 after taking pole. While Tracy, Vasser, Andretti and Franchitti made up positions late in the race, any of these guys should have been much closer to the front than most of the new blood. Its good to see the established racers challenged now and again. Some of these new guys are the future of Champ car racing and they need this taste of success to spur them on.

Go Scott! I was really impressed with the way he stayed out in front of Kenny Brack. Mind you, I am sure that sir turbulence helped him out too.

The young guys are definately taking charge, and I might even say that we are seeing the going of one generation and the coming of a new one. Andretti, Vasser, Herta, Tracy and De Ferran are not getting any younger, and young'uns are coming on strong. I fully welcome this change.

Now I just wish Player's would realize that there are many great Canadian drivers OUTSIDE OF QUEBEC! I like Tags as a person, but neither him nor Pat seem to have what it takes.

I'll agree with that, Jay. It's a crime that Lee Bentham doesn't have a drive and Patrique does. Especially when Bentham was trained in the Player's Development Series too.

I am however disgusted with Chip Ganassi for his wimping out re Indy. If the purpose of racing with Brand X Racing teams is to show them that Champ Cars have it all over them, why not run the team ya brung? If Vasser was such a great pilot, why did Chip fire him in the first place? (and why doesn't he have any sponsors?)
