Hello

I wondered if anyone had done or knew about track days at Three Sisters.

I understand they do take your own car days, but I can't find anything on their website.

How much does it cost and how long do you get? Do you have to go through another company or do the circuit organise days?

And while we are at it - Has anyone been round Three Sisters? What in? And did you like it?

Cheers

The only track day I know of at Three Sisters is the charity event organised annually by John Francis. Next year's is August 15th. See http://www.jpfcharity.co.uk/frMain.htm for details.

I've been round Three Sisters (as a passenger) in a rally-prepared Mk2 Escort.....fun! It's a tight little circuit, but with a reasonably long straight; I'd think it would be hard work in an XJS! Now, of course, if you'd like to volunteer to give passenger rides around the track, John would be delighted........

It might be a challenge in the XJS!

I remember looking at Three Sisters about a year ago and despite it's tight nature I thought it'd be good to just check the car is running well etc. It's not suitable to race there, it seems, but track time is track time!

I had a quick look at the jpfcharity site, it seems a very worthwhile charity. I see Aug 15th is a Friday, so it wouldn't get in the way of racing. 10 months in advance - now that is what I call organisation! A bit different to arragning a race meeting! Wigan isn't far, so if it's suitable, I'll give some rides. Do they have to be in a racer. What about a road E-Type as well?

It's used for kart & bike racing, but the only competitive car meetings are sprints, because of the nature of the circuit.

It's an annual event, so the date can be fixed well in advance - this helps in publicising the event & getting people to commit their time & efforts.

Anything a little bit out of the ordinary will help part the punters from their cash! This year we had a Subaru Impreza, a rally-prepared Mk2 Escort, Andy Glossop's racing Peugeot 205 & John, the organiser's, Ginetta (not sure which model, G33 I think, but it's the big hairy V8-powered thingy!). The E-type would be great - put me down for that one!

woodyracing should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ive driven round 3 sisters in lots of things (Subaru Impreza, MG ZR-160, my XR2i and their FF1600's). The track is short compared to national circuits, i think its about 1Km or 1mile. You can do an hour testing (even in a road car) for £35. On their longest track configuration there is quite a sharp hairpin which also banks up quite steeply, and down the back straight you get to about 80mph in a FF1600 and probably about 65mph in my XR2i.

All my trips to 3 sisters are detailed on my website.

Woody.
