Rubio should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2014 WTCC Race of Slovakia - Slovakia Ring - Round 4

Official preview of the event:
http://d1oo2un3qpiryo.cloudfront.net..._preview_2.pdf

Honda, Lada, ROAL, Proteam and Zengo have tested at the Hungaroring after the event, hopefully that will help to close the gap even more. Good track for Honda last year. Will they be able to repeat that once again? Don't expect much overtaking here too will lots of middle speed corners but expect a closer competition

This like Budapest and Red bull ring (is it on the calendar?)more than this. The track is abrasive especially for left front tires, and extremely hard to overtake.

Loeb was hugely lucky with these Honda problems! Thrilling qualifying. Lopez is very quick here! Well, maybe the possible rain tomorrow will spice up things

so the question is, can the race be rolled over to another weekend or will we get double points? this is due to race 2 being canned

Really unlucky with this rain... I doubt they'll make double points etc., though at least a race on Monday morning (even with empty granstands) could have been good.. Well, let's hope the championship as a whole will be more lucky in the future

safety ok but this is rather pathetic, in BTCC they raced in even worse conditions

Whether BTCC would or would have not raced in those conditions is irrelevant. As an FIA international event they are required to have a medical helicopter on standby. Helicopter grounded due to weather condition = no race.

that's why the FIA sucks among other things

and ironically the old cars being heavier and with narrow tires are much safer in such conditions

Of course, because BTCC would never run in unsafe conditions, for example at a circuit with a high speed corner and an already damaged tyre barrier.

Did you see how difficult it was to keep the car in a straight line before the safety car went out in race on? If they had gone out for race 2 there would either have been the mother of all accidents, or cars would have followed round in a procession with zero overtaking, either way I'm sure you would have still complained.

I think you saw a different race. The one I watched had cars sliding over straights, standing water and situations so bad even Yvan Muller went off. The red flag was the only right thing to do.

Yes it was wet at Croft, but the cars weren't aquaplaning along the straights like they were in Slovakia earlier.

Just another excuse for an anti-FIA rant isn't it?

Though I desperately wanted them to race and was really disappointed with a missed opportunity for others to beat Citroen (not likely though, as they were 2 seconds a lap quicker in the wet), it was the only possible decision. Otherwise it could have been a car wreckage and 10-car grid at Salzburgring.

Racing itself in Race 1 was good. Drivers kept the cars really well under the control. And to my point of view, this race once again confirmed that it's traction where Citroen has it's advantage (not the top speed as it may seemed at Marrakech). Just remember Muller driving around Bennani

so 2 explanations then

1) BTCC drivers are more competent in the wet
2) OR the new S2000 cars are really dangerous and unsafe in the wet comapred to NGTC

NGTC cars don't have flat floors so are less prone to aquaplaning.
