Column on Diz

Has anyone seen the column in this weeks Motoring News by that Simon Arron on Diz?

Looks good next to stuff next to McLaren and Vodafone, testing and Micheline F1 withdrawal.

MikeM should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Thanks - missed that. Now if he really knew him he wouldn't have called him Ian Smith!

Simon knew him "pre-Diz" as some of uz have to own up to!!!
He's one of the few MN reporters to remember his roots.
Also he raced @ OP in formula E !

I might stand corrected on this but it comes from the pre Formula E days when Richard Peacock ran Aintree Racing Drivers School. Ian had the knickname 'Dispatch' as when things needed doing he was one who was given the job of doing it. (still is by all accounts). It's been shortened to Diz since then. Richard Peacocks nickname was based on the well known hair colour of the time - something to do with the Greeks!
