MichaelC should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Toyota or not Toyota

I read with interest in this month's F1 Magazine that Toyota are considering running their team not as Toyota, but as Lexus. Lexus is seen to be the brand they're pitching against BMW and Mercedes, so they think they may be better off running the F1 series as Lexus. Any thoughts?

Ford-Jaguar
Its already being done. I thought Lexus was primarily intended for the North American Market, how much benefit would Toyota see from badging the Team "Lexus"?

For starters, Lexus sounds great compared to Toyota, as a racing team!!
btw, I wish they convince the Schu to drive for them, Ferrari has started its downhill curve....

'Team Lexus'

Hmmm .. well I guess that's about as close as we'll ever get to 'Team Lotus' again.

Are Lexus vehicles sold in Europe? I guess that would be like Honda deciding to go with an Acura badge for its F1 effort.

Yes, Toyaota is selling a Lexus-range in Europe. And very succesfully as well. The LS, SC, RX and the very nice IS series iirc.

Branding the team as Lexus might be a good idea. But, with the current colour scheme of the test car being red and white are they gearing up for Coca-Cola sponsorship? We've heard for years that Coke were gearing up for F1 sponsorship, and somehow "Coca-Cola Team Lexus" just doesn't sound right....
