2005 Attendance
Id like the members to give a rough estimate on
How many race meetings they attended ? excluding car shows, muscle car masters and the like but including track or ride days What type of event it was ? I also would like you to indicate if you competed, officiated or if you were a spectator Plus whether you had any type of pass for entry or you paid full ticket price. Please note this is not a sizing contest where we check who has the biggest appendage (or appendages if that may be the case) and also understand that not everybody can attend due to schooling, work, social or monetary reasons. I attended 19 race events this year, 7 of which were interstate, most as a entry paying spectator plus 3 on team invites. Comprised of V8 meetings, AMRS, Vic State, drag racing, hillclimb, speedway, F1, A1, Moto GP and finally 2 ride days at PI. |

I was horrified. Forty-nine race meetings. First count was 46, but I thought of three more. The blog has the full list, but to simplify along mixxer's lines: One event in Victoria (Phillip Island), two in New South Wales (Murwillumbah Sprints & Lismore Showgrounds Speedway), 46 in Queensland at (Queensland Raceway, Morgan Park, Indy Street Circuit, Brisbane International Speedway, Charlton Raceway [Toowoomba], Maryborough Speedway, Rockhampton City Raceway, Carina Speedway [Bundaberg] and Leyburn Sprints) 1 Champ Car World Series Event 1 V8Supercar Round (not including the above) 2 Australian Motor Racing Series Rounds 1 Australian Rally Championship Round 5 Queensland State Championship Rounds 3 Other CAMS sanctioned circuit race meetings 6 AASA Sanctioned Qld Raceway Top Gear Classics 2 Historic Sprints 5 World Series Sprintcars Rounds 11 Comp Cams Sprintcar Series Rounds 12 Other MSAQ sanctioned Sprintcar events Did not pay entry to any of them. At 17 events I was a P/A commentator At 23 events I was the official responsible to media and PR liasion for Qld Sprintcars At the remaining 15 events not covered by the overlap of the above, I was accredited media as either a journalist, photographer or both I can get to 50 if we include a Sprintcar test and tune night. Did not pay to get into any of the above events. No wonder I'm tired. |

I attended 7 race meeteings, 2 hillclimbs and 2 rallies.
The race metings were 6 NSW state championship rounds where i competed at 2 and was pit crew at the other 4. I also attended one v8 round at Mt Panorama, mainly because i had a mate racing a lotus. 2 hillclimbs at Mt Panorama, and 2 rallies that were in Bathurst. I didnt not pay to get into any of these events (unless you count my $350 entry fee). I havent paid to go to a motor racing event for about the last 10 years, its great when you know so many people |

only three events last year(2005). out to willowbank for the 'v8superduds' on the friday, three day pass for that thanks to coopertools australia and bradlee. nice bloke, shame about his hair.
went to 'surfers' for the indy, just the one day. had to pay for that one which hurt. $55.00 for friday general admission and no food and drink or balcony overlooking the track. had a look at 'speed on the tweed', that was a good value day out. cheap tickets and great cars everywhere. opps, forgot to say g'day to you all. |

Only attended one race meeting this year and that was the A1 GP at Eastern Creek - I managed to score 2 x 2 day passes from a friend at work.
I stopped going to see the V8s and will not see them trackside again until they can sort out what is / isn't a legal pass - I won't pay my hard earned dollars to have race results decided by the flip of a coin. |

Just over 26, all as an official/marshal in some capacity (includes meetings that I helped organise but didn't attend as it still counts in my book.) All in Vic (bar Symons V8's) with a mix of grass roots circuit racing thru State Series up to national race series and several V8 rounds and the AGP.

I'm not sure of the exact number, but I'm sure it's up around 20ish. V8Supercars, Historics, Track Days, Supersprints, Drift Practice, Drift Competition.......
That said, I'm mapping out this year's calendar and I'm already up to 23 weekends taken up (several overlaps unfortunately), and still some stuff to be finalised.... |

Thanks to all who actually attempted to list the events they attended, highlights the varied forms of motorsport some of us actively support whether by competing, officiating or just plain spectating.
PS GTR if I wanted a 0 attended option I would have included it in the first place (with apologies to Mr DSG) |

Oops I thought this was about V8 Supercars so I said none. I've never been to a V8 Supercars event.
However I did go to 3 race meetings, all at Oran Park. Two were rounds of the NSWRRC, and the other was the AMRS meeting with the SuperTrucks. |
