I can't vouch for all of these, but I do know for a fact that the proviso about drivers' names is relatively recent - implemented in response to a couple of impostors who actually tried to pass themselves off as BTCC competitors on the forum.
Both AJ and Moff have been members since before that one blew up, so at the time they weren't in contravention of any site policy. Redshoes' website is actually a derivation of his own personal nickname - Redshoes. If you know him socially, it would not be unnatural to use it, or some derivation of it. I do. So again, the website came later. Enzo could be enzo's given name - or he could be denoting allegiance with any one of thousands of Enzos, Ferrari, Buscaglia, Calderari, etc. I don't think there's a problem there. He's not purporting to be anyone but the enzo we know here. As for the others, no idea - but the main point of the rule is, as I have said before, to stamp out people trying seriously to pass themselves off as someone they ain't. Does this go some way to answering your concerns? |

That probably describes why I didn't remember that particular restriction in the rules.
I really don't see any problem with invoking the memory of a great man (or woman) through your username. Anymore than invoking the memory of a Torana. But to stay within the rules. But wait a minute... And I am not trying to attack you personally, the question you have raised is a good one. What is the purpose of the '69' in your username? Could that not be a reference that contravenes the first point in the rules you have quoted? |

Fair enough,
And to stay within the rules as they are now, I would become: "the poster previously known as..." |

Could Bernie sue me for having F1 in my name, considering I don't have the 'Trademark' symbol next to it????
*Please note - this is not a SERIOUS question* |

Yes but you lose the Lower case "f", not "F", and it is a different typeface....
