Michael Aikey should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Looking for information, British Jag. driver(?), 1950s

I'm seeking any information I can on a British race driver, "T. Craig." I believe he was racing Jaguars in the 1950s. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I purchased a vintage photograph of a driver in what appears to be an XK120 or 140 Jaguar. Penciled on the reverse is "T. Craig". There is a "The Motor" copyright stamp also on the reverese. That's the extent of the information I have.

Can'r find a "T Craig", but John Craig was a Jaguar driver in the early fifties. Ran an SS100 in 1950 and then an XK120 in 1951-53.

Is it possible it might be a "J"?

Tim, It could well be a stylistic "J". Good call, thanks. Anything further on John Craig? He doesn't show up in the 1957 Motor Racing and Mortor Rally Directory. I'll have to go through my Motor Year Books.

Haven't got anything biographical, but I've got the following 1951 results for him.

Goodwood
26 March 1951
3rd, Third Easter Handicap

16 June 1951
1st, Sports cars over 3 litres

18 August 1951
unplaced in 2 races

29 September 1951
7th, Sports Car race, unplaced September handicap

This suggests to me that he was probably based on the south coast, and he was almost certainly a BARC member. He doesn't seem to have ventured anywhere else to race that year.
