Hillclimbs and Sprints

James,
OK I assume this is the forum.
As we said before it is now up to us to see if there is enough interest for our own forum.

I think a separate forum for Hillclimbing and Sprinting would be a good thing . Meanwhile if you have a decent internet connection go to www.joyrainey.net and have a look at the video clips

Hillclimbs

Russ, you need to look in the MSA Blue book which all competitors will have.Do you know any hillclimb competitors near you?
Also it may help to look at some old entry regs to see classes you can run in.
What sort of car are thinking of building?

The Blue Book will show standard MSA classes and also the general technical regs. I think you need to look at these (and check the championship you will run in as some have changes/different specs) When you chose your class, you might find there are specific regs for that - Formula Ford for example. I guess the best thing is to go to a meeting and discuss the people in the class you are looking at.

I love the thought of a hillclimb section. Quite a few of us do all of the Midland hills, and there's a real good spirit between the marshals and the drivers. You'll also find a few of us at Gurston especially on August BH Monday. I'll probably wear my special Hill Climb t-shirt. Aquired on holiday in NZ where they do a lot of walking and climbing in the Southern Alps. It reads:

'Altitude and Attitude.
Up a mountain - down a beer'

The perfect motor racing week-end, in my opinion.
