On her birthday in 1969, Debbie Gentilozzi had an unusual first date with her future husband in Lansing, Mich. "We're 19 years old and driving along in his race car, and he picks up a drag race," the former Debbie Barratt said of Paul Gentilozzi. "He looks over and says: 'Get out of the car; you're too much weight. I'll be right back."' Waiting near the street, Debbie said she didn't feel disrespected, nor was she worried about her date's welfare. She was thrilled by the man, the machine and the mission.

The best thing about this organization is the strength of the partnership. It's an amazing thing. Everybody brings something to the table. Kevin and I are the new guys. Gerry has invested more money in Champ Car over the last two decades than anybody. When the early founders like the Penskes, Patricks and Ganassis sold their stock, Gerry stayed with it. We wouldn't be here without him.
