It has to be Alonso. A podium on his debut with Aston-Martin.

Hard to say who truly extracted the most of the car. Hard to overlook albon finishing in the points with Sargeant not terribly far behind. It's also easy to overlook max with a controlling season opening win.
But in all reality we know. |

Ocon. He got a penalty for the penalty for the penalty. It's been a while since someones race was been that amusing.

I could not help but visualize if Kimi was racing on the track. He surely would have got my vote based on merit.

Max made it look easy. So I don't know if he was challenged or not. Alonso put on a show. So clearly him. Honorable mention to Ocon for racking up the penalties.

I voted for Alonso. His move on Hamilton made it worth watching and unfortunately having to listen to a more offensively squealy than ever Crofty Edit: I miscounted your penalties.... I thought you had missed the 3rd one but on re-reading you hadnt.. |

I’ve not always been a Fred-fan but I’ve warmed to him in the last couple of years. So he definitely gets my vote today. The first lap did him no favours so he had to work for the podium. He hasn’t always been a good chooser of teams but he’s got it right this time.
Well done to Verstappen and Gasly too. |

Alonso for his good pace and good overtaking.
MAx of course was brilliant. Also I happy to see that all 3 rookies drove well. |

Tempted to plump for Lando Norris since he doesn't look like collecting too much of anything but sympathy votes this year.No real doubt about Alonso deserving the nomination on merit and for providing entertainment.

Fernando for me. Enlivened an otherwise fairly predictable race. Big kudos to Lance and I thought young Sargent made an impressive debut. |

Gave it to Fernando. Really impressed by him, gives some encouragement to Aston. Shame Norris didn't get a great result. Williams need to get a bit more out of them, you have to say well done to Albon for getting in the points

Alonso gets the nod - good pace and some great overtakes. Honourable mentions for Gasly (made great progress), Max (untouchable), Stroll (for even competing - impressive result considering the state of his wrists), Norris (just for carrying on - 6 pit stops ) and of course Ocon (for the comedy gold with his endless penalties).

Wow!
Can't remember last time a poll was so clear in its verdict....and of course I concur with choosing Alonso - if only because he was so obviously delighted with it. The image kept flashing into my mind of that shot of him some years back sat by the side of the track in his (marshal's) camping chair, spectating after yet another car failure - and I thought - what a contrast! |

I think there are a few worthy of mention, but as my favourite driver was the only one doing any really exciting overtakes and also ended up on the podium I vote Alonso.
Occon is a bloody idiot. |
