Previous winners include 1979: AJ Foyt 1979: Roger McCluskey 1980: Bobby Unser 1980: Johnny Rutherford 1981: Mike Mosley 1981: Tom Sneva 1982: Gordon Johncock 1982: Tom Sneva 1983: Tom Sneva 1984: Tom Sneva 1985: Mario Andretti 1986: Michael Andretti 1987: Michael Andretti 1988: Rick Mears 1989: Rick Mears 1990: Al Unser Jnr 1991: Michael Andretti 1992: Michael Andretti 1993: Nigel Mansell 1994: Al Unser Jnr 1995: Paul Tracy 1996: Michael Andretti 1997: Greg Moore 1998: Jimmy Vasser 1999: Paul Tracy 2000: Juan Pablo Montoya 2001: Kenny Brack 2002: Paul Tracy 2003: Michel Jourdain Jnr 2004: Ryan Hunter-Reay The Track was originally only 1 mile in length but some slight changes to the circuit meant from 1997 onwards the track length is actually 1.032 miles. the 1998 round at the Mile seems have been the fastest the cars have gone with Patrick Carpentier setting the fastest Qualifying lap to be recorded with a time of 20.0280s. Fastest Race lap was also set in that round by Scott Pruett with a time of 21.5190s Last edited by marcus; 4 Jun 2005 at 16:58. |

He's definitely in with a shout Silk. It's all very clsoe at the front, and surprising and pleasing to see Wirdheim in the top 10.

Big hit for Hunter-Reay there. I hope he's just banged up, and not seriously injured.
Worth noting is that Milwaukee hasn't gotten either version of the SAFER barrier installed yet. |

If Tracy keeps this up he will have lapped the whole field before too long.

How many are on the lead lap for this restart?
Damn shame about Ranger, even though a lap down he had the speed to run with the rest. Regards, Jim |

Too bad Vasser couldn't maintain his early pace - there was some nice dicing there at the beginning, but after Tracy grabbed the lead for the final time and started to pull away, you pretty much knew it was over and done with...
Anyhow, congrats to Tracy on a dominating victory - Portland up next. |

Some great news:
There will be a second Dale Coyne car again for Portland, but Servia is not guaranteed the drive if he is does not stay with Newman / Haas, but after his perfromance today hopefully he will. |

There has to be a second Coyne car for Portland - the promotors there require 18 cars.
Great victory from Paul, and nice to see Justin doing so well this season. I hope Ryan is okay. |
