Time Attack: Round 5 Snetterton 10th October 2010

Kevin Horsley went to Snetterton at the weekend looking to pilot the freshly rebuilt ScoobyClinic “Pink” Scoob to a championship winning position in the last Time Attack event of 2010, and came away doing just that!

What makes this even more of an achievement is that less than 48 hours earlier the car was still in bits, with no engine!

Going into the event at Snetterton on the 10th of October, Kevin was leading the “Club Pro 4WD Championship”, but his overall success was not guaranteed as other rivals were capable of snatching the title from him.

Following a spectacular blow up and engine fire at this years TOTB whilst putting in a 9 second pass on the ¼ mile, the car was rebuilt especially for the final round.

The car is now fitted with a unique 2.6 litre flat four engine of ScoobyClinics own design, which is coupled to one of their GT35r Billet turbo’s for optimum performance.

Kev finished 3rd in the 2007 Club Challenge Championship and then went on to win the same class a year later in 2008 with 4 lap records which stand to this day.

Having taken a year off in 2009, Kev came back with a vengeance in 2010, and was looking to be on top of the podium at the end of the season.

With a fresh engine, the car was eased around the circuit, taking care not to undo all the hard work it had taken to get there. Running just 1 bar of boost Kevin took 2nd place in Round 5, runner up to Paul Doyle in the ex Zen Performance Impreza.

For the Championship the tables were turned, and Kevin topped the leader board, securing the 2010 Club Pro 4WD Championship!! A mixture of Kevin’s consistent driving and a superbly set-up car has proven to be the best, and the benchmark by which others will be measured.

Well done to Kevin and Team ScoobyClinic.
