Drugs in F1 !

Just wondered, as this forum seems to be a base of knowledge if any of you know if they do dope tests in F1 ?, I know these guys are extremely fit to the point where M schumacher after a million 200mph laps round monaco barely breaks a sweat or disturbs his hair. But there are many multi-million pound sports that top athletes are tested regularly, just wondered ?. If not I would suggest Raikkonen is the pusher !!!!!!

Yes they do. Results are available on the official FIA website - drivers tested, date of test, outcome of test.

Jensen, I think you'll find it's tougher for them than it looks, and thats because they are so fit.

No no no , I totally agree, I have done quite a lot of single seater driving myself the pinnacle being 12 laps of Spa in a 2000 Formula vauxhall lotus, I was after, in fact I was resting my head on the head restraint on lap 7 through Eu-Rouge so I think these guys are super human, It's just that with other sports such as athletics drug testing is top topic and in all the years I have been following F1 I have never really heard it spoken about.

There was a big story last year with the F1 feeder series (no, not CART, the official one ) F3000.

Thomas Enge was declared champion - only to fail a drugs test and hand the championship to Sebastian Bourdais.

LOL - and Flavio is his supplier - what do you think is in that packet of Marlboro in his Mild Seven pocket?

Maybe Bernie is the importer?

HHHHmmmmmm

That explains the schumacher pit fire, probably caused by michael tossing a discarded joint from the cockpit. and Jenson's crash at monaco, did he drop his rizzla's ?

I heard a lot of them are using creatine. I used that once and it made my calves cramp up AND pains in my side. Evil stuff.

That is a good question. I have taken Creatine too. I blew up to 210 lbs from 195. I was stronger and much bigger but it does cause stomach issues.

On to the drivers. I wonder if Steriods would help them. I suppose it could give them huge necks! They would be able to lap for a lot longer too and recoup even more quickly. But would it make them race any better?

Reminds me of a little story on Top Gear last night - the early days of Jaguar at Le Mans, the team were giving the driver black coffee at every pit stop in an attempt to keep him awake/alert, but he complained it was making him too jittery so they gave him brandy instead.

...which is probably why he survived/failed to notice when a bird hit him half way down Mulsanne!!
