Anticlockwise circuits

Hi

I'm looking for the answers to 2 questions, and perhaps the good people here might like to help me.

1: Name five motor racing circuits, either historic, or current which run, or ran anti-clockwise racing laps

2: Who drove the fastest average speed lap ever recorded in a Grand Prix? Here I would guess it was DC, but I don't know when or where.

All help would be appreciated.

regards

Neil

Blimey thats a good question . I'd imagine the highest average would be at Hokenhiem (spelling!!). I too thought of Brazil and Imola. Correct me if I'm wrong but Donnington?? Other than that...

I believe that the fastest ever lap speed is Keke Rosberg at Silverstone in (I think) '85. The quickest SPEED is DC at Hockenheim last year.

If u count the '50s Indianapolis as a GP then that's anticlockwise too.

I think the fastest lap set during a GP stands to Henri Pescarolo who Lapped Monza during the 1971 GP (the fastest GP ever held) at 153.49 MPH. Keke Rosberg set the fastest ever pole position for a GP at Silverstone in 1985 with a lap at 160.90. Pescarolo was driving a March-Ford with about 440 BHP - nearly half of what to-days GP cars have.

Correction: Damon Hill lapped Monza during the 1993 Italian GP at 155.241 MPH on his way to winning the race. I think this is the fastest GP lap.

Just quickly, Donington runs clockwise. I can't think of any others.

Detroit as well was Anti - Clockwise.

Oh and the air around Craig Pollock circulates Anti-clockwise for 14 of the 17 races on the calendar.

I was always under the impression that Silverstone had produced the fastest lap...

Hi everybody

It looks like I've found answers to my questions.

There are quite a few racing circuits which run or ran
anti-clockwise laps, but the following all hosted F1
Grand Prix races:
Las Vegas, Interlagos, Imola, Berlin (Avus), Detroit,
Jacarepagua, Porto, Phoenix, Montjuich
The fastest average speed in a F1 Grand Prix lap looks like
it was Damon Hill at Monza in 1993 with an average of
249.835 km/h. Does anybody disagree, and if so why?

Thanks for your help!

regards

Neil

The Dallas track used in 1984 was anti-clockwise as well.
