You could see Kimi holding the wheel at an odd angle to go in straight line before he went off.

Sam: "you must overtake Montoya before the stops" - cool thing to say.
Engine: "bang" - annoying thing to say |

Two engine failures for Cosworth...is it a fluke or was Bahrain their fluke? Short sad day for Williams.

Its gonna be a llloooooonnnnnngggggg year for Williams I fear. Sam Michael should learn now not to open his mouth before the race as he jinxed the team. "Our race is going to be stronger than our qualifying" Whoops!!

Rubens couldn't get past Speed until Speed pitted...that doesn't seem right. Is Rubens incompatible with his car or is he not as good as he used to be?

Rubens takes his penalty pit and comes out behind the unpassable (for him, anyway) Scott Speed! Not a good weekend for Rubens.

A great day for Renault.
A good day for Ferrari. Almost a nice day for BMW. Nobody gets fired yet at Toyota. A great day for Jenson. Painlessly quick. |

Shame Nick lost his engine he drove well too for BMW.
Poor Williams, still they have some pace. Anyway - I'm so 'appy. As I suspect one of the F1 mods will be! |

Massa was very good. I know its early but I thought Michael would thrash him but today he more than held his own. Driver of the race in my opinion.

I can eat Humble pie , Well done Giancarlo a great weekend all round , Now lets see what you can do for the rest of the year that was so annoying seeing the 2 williams cars go bang , I dont think Webber had enough for Alonso but he was looking good for 4th. I waited and waited for those clouds to open up but they never did LOL Oh well onto to melbourne |

Another entertaining race. I really wish we could have seen Fernando reel Fisi in in the last ten laps, because I think he could have won.
Is it enough for Jenson to have made third place though? I know that's the best he could have hoped for today, but I'm getting a little tired of hearing the team saying how they're going to challenge only for them to come up short on the day. Poor race from Trulli as well, especially finishing behind his team mate. |

Biggest surprise was that Ferrari didn't ask Massa to move of for TGF .

MMm - I would have loved to have been party to the Todt - Brawn conversation on that one. My guts is that if it would not have caused such a huge storm (as last time and as it would have again this time) they would have pulled Massa. The bad publicity was the only thing that ruled that one out.
Big congratulations to Renault - I'm well impressed. They look the part in every way. For all my jibes at him in the past JV did a good job too! Interesting to see the failures - shows we are still at very early stages for new developments and the second race for an engine looks like its going to be a problem for some. It raises the question as to whether you accept racing on high revs for one race with the potential blow next time i.e. Nico, or set the systems with a two race performance in mind. Good to see Ralf get a point too! |

Waiting for Network Ten to broadcast the race (won't be for about 90 minutes) but good stuff for JV to finish in the points.
Bad luck for both Williams to retire with engine failures. |
