pink69 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
ELMS , any point it continuing?

This Sunday will be the third round of the ELMS from Estoril. Neither Joest Audi or Works Panoz leaving on ly 3 Lm 900's. That is a really poor turnout for the biggest European series. And with only two cars [ both Saleens ] in the GTs class i don't really see much point in continuing the series if no one can be bothered to turnup!

Make that 2 LMP 900's:

Johansson(Gulf)Racing - Johansson/Lemarie/Coronel - Audi R8
Pescarolo Sport - Boullion/Redon/Derichebourg - Courage C60 Peugeot

And an enormous LMP 675 entry:

Didier Bonnet Racing - Dussau/Gomez/Bich - Debora LMP200

Do we need more proof that theory(a fantastic series with the best sportscars in the world) en practice are two different things

yes, panoz should let the fia worry about european gt racing, and concentrate on building alms. 1-2 race in europe for alsm is fine, but a whole series is not necessary

What they should do is make the ALMS into the WLMS. Continue with the majority of races in the US but have a few rounds in Europe and in oceaina like last year.Just having 5 non American races would be enough , and surely then some teams like Cadillac and Chevolette would come across rather than just staying in the states. if the points contribute to the Championship then they'd come. At least then we would have more than 6 cars in the top 3 class's. Maybe the FIA could join up for the ELMS races to boost fields but that won't happen because some of the cars are paddel shift. Maybe the Japanise Gt may enter a few cars if they go out there!

Estoril ELMS

I have never seen anything on track as disgusting as what I saw with half an hour to go at Estoril 1000km. It looked to me like a deliberate ramming by the Courage, as Boris probably thought he had no other way of stopping the Johansson R8 winning. It was pure luck that Tom Coronel and several marshalls were not killed. No doubt Boris will claim it was an accident, but having followed the sport for over 30 years I have heard that claim all too often. Boris should in my view have his licence permanently withdrawn, as he is not fit to race at this or any level.

The ALMS should be solely in America and the FIA should join up the FIA Sportscar and FIA GT Championship and make a World Championship with maybe 1 round in America. Then there would be a strong series in America and the rest of the world, like with Group C, and maybe also a European Enduro series as well.

ALMS ans ELMS should join together and be one series. Not having it in many parts of the world. Call it the Le Mans Series, have race sin America, Europe and Asia.

I agree Pink. The entry in Portugal was embarassing. Pathetic. The performance of the new Panoz has been embarassing. I think Uncle Don tried to do too much too soon. I DO like the idea of a global series. But just Damn! The Portugal race ,I just did not undrstand the point

no such luck, Speedvision report elsm will most likely continue with 4 1000km races, probably at Donington, Jarama, Estoril, and Most.
