Which would you prefer at BAR?
Alex Wurz seems well and truly in the frame for a BAR race drive next year - either that or he's a bargaining tool to negotiate JVs salary down. Sato is still waiting in the wings too, so what will be best for them?

JV and Wurz are in the past. Jacques is past his sell-by and Wurz, once he made his stunning debut at Benetton was firmly put in the shade by Fisi for 3 years. Wurz is a good choice, but those 3 years proved that Fisi is quicker, and available too!
In the absence of such common sense, it'll be Sato. Someone else who had a season to prove he was slower than Fisi...... |

Oh - and Fisichella had a year after Wurz left Benetton to prove he is half a second a lap quicker than Button too....... How much more evidence does Dave Richards need!

Forget common sense when it comes to Fisichella Redlake... If common sense dictated things, he'd be a 3 times WDC at Ferrari instead of Michael. In any case... I would not want to damn my favourite driver to a pathetic team like BAR.
I'd really like to see Sato in that seat. He was just showing his worth when Jordan turfed him, and I truly believe this guy has talent and speed... He'd give Jenson a run for his money. |

Don't forget that Wurz suffered with an overweight Bennetton then - with him on-board they were over the limit, but Fisi was smaller. Most modern cars (even the BAR!) are well under the limit now, and Wurz regularly turns times that match Kimi and DC.

I think Wurz could do a really good job at BAR, and he'd certainly have a better effect on car development than Buton, Villeneuve or Sato. He started well at Benetton before the Canada and Moanco crashes dented his confidence,a dn he wasn't helepd by the weight of cars of the day making his wieght a bigger disadvantage.
Apart from Japan, Sato did nothing last aseason, and din't really look to be improving by late-seaosn. I think he's still too much of a risk, although he may ahve improved with a seaosn of testing behidn the scenes. |

I also remember talk of Wurz finally getting the qualifying car, that Fisi regularly used, and subsequently qualified it in the top 5. Exact spot eludes me at the moment.
I'll admit to being a fan of Wurz and I consider him vastly under-rated, but having said that I wouldn't wish the BAR seat on my worst enemy. I would like to see Ron give Wurz a shot in a MAC at a race. Maybe he would like the one-lap qualifying that DC hates. |

Sato will probably replace Jacques next year unless Jacques can manage to keep his car on the road for the remaining races!

Sato should come in, Villeneuve should get the bullet. That should save a few million for starters.

I feel Sato should be the choice. JV and BAR have had their day, and it rained. Sato is fast but he over drove the car too much. I feel he can do a good job. He would unboubtably lose to Button in points the first year but so is JV now.
I can wait for the day when BAR is no longer reffered to as "a pathetic team like BAR" |

Sato is the best choice ......He did a lot more than just crash last year but that seems to be just what people remember.....He out qualified Fisi alot more than Ralph has even got near ......
I think Wurz wont get it , and i hope Jacques wont. Jenson and Takuma would be a great partnership for BAR ..they would surley push each other very hard indeed and that can only be a good thing. |

Well, BAR's never been able to climb above the Tyrrel team they bought out. It's a sinking ship, and I wouldn't want any drivers I like going there.
How about Ralf? |

I want Sato to drive next year, because I have a $10 bet with our test driver that Honda will pull the strings for Sato to drive.
It isn't the money it is the principle! hehehehe |

BAR isn't a very good team so JV is probably fine there. However, he certainly seems to have lost a fair bit.
My pick for a new driver? Lotterer. |
