Goodwood Revival 2013

Has anyone heard from BARC about the Goodwood Revival, need to book my days off work ASAP. Just wonder if the letters have been sent out yet.

Dear Marshals! I was pointed to this thread by fellow TT member Chigley. He mentioned I should ask nicely here if there are any leftover complimentary tickets for the Revival (this might be a little premature, seeing you probably haven't had confirmation yourself). I am a photographer and seeking access to the event on Friday and, preferably, Saturday. Sadly I lost out on one of the last Friday tickets yesterday hence my quest to find an opportunity to get to the Revival, I could not arrange things any earlier sadly.

Now, I have applied for press accreditation as well, but I doubt that will happen seeing I have applied with a freelance referral document instead of one of a professional media outlet. I run a site (and have done so for many years), www.theretromobilist.com, which is where the photos will turn up, if I find entry to the event somehow.. Have been accredited to things like the Oldtimer GP before, but I am doubtful I will get one for the Revival. So, simples; HELP!

I am not expecting to hear for a week or so yet. Usually about 3 weeks before event.
I have to book my leave and cancel if not require, but appreciate all employers are different.

I have had to withdraw from this event as my ever caring employer has put me on a 5 day course that week meaning I won't be able to make it on Friday. In the interest of fairness to those who can do all three days (and selfishly not wanting to try and find a probably non existent space in the campsite) I though it best to offer my apologies. There is always next year.....

I have been informed that the media will not receive tickets etc. in the post but by e-mail, documents should be printed off and will have a bar code for identification at the circuit. It is possible that marshals will also be informed this way.

Look forward to seeing a few of you through the camera lens.

Cheers,
bauble.

Just how big must it be to get all of you in?

This year don't spread misleading information as to your whereabouts around the circuit, last year I looked a right chump dragging round from post to post asking for 'CLIVE'.

Poultry

Tickets etc arrived this morning. Where are we all....those fortunate to be selected? I see I'm stuck with Bladders yet again....what have I done wrong?
Surprised there is no programme of races yet , although we know there is twilight experience on Friday evening.
Remind me to press my double breasted cavalry twills please!

For those that have never been or are just too old to remember the layout of the circuit (you know who you are!) there is a map at this link:-

https://www.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...d31519d0848879

If you click on your Post Number, from the list on the left margin, it displays a place-holder on the map with an arrow to your post.

I received my tickets on Saturday too, it will be my first time marshalling this event, so hopefully it is a good one, although I haven't been assigned a post yet, so I will have to wait until I get there to see where I get to watch the action from.

Can I also ask a favour please, two friends of mine want to go along on the Sunday, so would anyone be willing to swap a ticket for Sunday for either a Friday or Saturday one?

Thanks

Benj

I haven't been able to do much marshalling this year, due to moving house and changing jobs, is there any point in putting in a last minute request for the Revival meeting, see if there's any cancellations or last minute marshal requirements?

Ask Paula Brown, BARC Marshals co-ordinator, (pbrown@barc.net). She is the best person to ask.

Hi this is my first time @ Goodwood, very excited about the whole event after pending too many times watching highlights on tv.
Joining instructions seem clear but unsure where woodcote is for sign on and where post 10 is, assume out in the boonies. Can anyone point me to a detailled map?
Cheers.
