fire extinguishers

Please can someone help me out ?

I currently have an erskine fire extinguisher fitted to my formula ford (electrical system) I am going to replace this with an AFFF system soon and I was wondering which is the best way to disconnect the existing system (as I don't want to set it off!!!)

Any help and advice appreciated

Thanks
Tiptop

Fire extinguishers are activated with the electric current on. So if you shut the power on the extinguisher nothing can happen. (there should be an arming switch on the system, don't arm it)
