Images from Island Magic
Wayne Wakefield, doing it his style!!! CAMS CEO Rob Nethercote unveiling the CAMS 50th Anniversary logo and launching CAMS' 50th year. The Three Wise Monkeys! I'll give you bragging rights if you can pick who these three figures from the history books are! (They are going to kill me for this) Current Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit Owners discussing the future of the marvellous venue. These pictures were all taken by Justin Deeley a CAMS Accredited photgrapher. More of Justin's work can be seen at www.inetpics.com I will be posting some more racing images shortly. Cam |

Here are the more racing pics I promised.
A Formula Ford getting a little angry! Some Vees hard at it. Could be quite fun to have a race in these little things. I love the scenic views at the Island! The Forty Winks car, always lurking! You have to love a car with a Triple Rotar 20B engine in it!!! This thing breathes fire!!!! Oh how I love Group N's If I were a rich man, I would park one of these things in my garage, just to bring out for a drive to my local Beachside Pub in Summer. The official handing over of the Historic Fire Pursuit Truck to the Phillip Island Motorsport Museum. A convoy of HQs! What a scary thought!!! hehehe I think they should change his name to Wayne Insane! By the way, if you want to see the rest of these pics, and perhaps even order a couple please feel free to head to www.inetpics.com Once there Browse the photographers and go to Justin Deeley's section. Here has has about 16 000 photographs of motorsport events. Hss to be seen to be believed. This guy really does cause a stir wherever he goes. As Brett Ramsay said on his program 'In Pit Lane', "It is worth the price of the admission just to go and see Wakefield in his 808." Although I did watch from close up Wayne line a few guys up. I also happen to know that he agreed with an Assistant Clerk of Course that he was a little too aggressive on a couple of occasions, causing damage, where it didn't need to be. Oh well the spectators and officials still haven't stopped talking about him yet. Bryce wanting to take everything in as he slipped and slided his way around the Phillip Island circuit. "MMMMMM.... Beer!!" - Say the PIARC boys. Well what do you think of the pics? Anyone got any others from the Island they feel like sharing? Cam |

Team Chaparral,
I notice from your website that you race a Mazda RX7 in the NSW Improved Production category. Will we be seeing you down at Island Magic 2003? I currently race the Forty Winks Mazda RX7, which will most certainly be there. Cam |

Vandas,
We are hoping both the Team Chaparral RX-7's will make the trek down to Victoria this year at some stage, we'll see how it goes... Are you coming up for the Nationals ?? They are now going to be held at Oran Park instead of The Creek due to AVESCO having problems with the original proposed date... Cheers, Paul... |

I will have to check out more details on the Nationals.
Currently I am looking for the budget to run in F3 this year, however it is getting late on, and I may have to look at campaigning a few inter state Improved Production Rounds. All depends on Dollars Cam |

Yeah, I know the Forty Winks car.... Very Nice indeed. I've actually added your website to our IPRA Links page... As Paul has already mentioned, I'm on the card's for a few Victoria rounds this season including the Island Magic. We had a pretty shading year this year and learnt a lot (Previously from the Pro Street Drag Racing Scene) But with a few wise men behind the scene's at Team Chaparral in 2003, we're aiming at NO MORE DNF's... Dammit.. Our cars are looking good for this year, just gotta find the finish line a bit more... Last edited by TeamChaparral; 26 Jan 2003 at 00:01. |

Vandas.
If you won't to race in the IPRA Interstate series you need to get an entry in be the end of the month. Go to www.ipransw.com.au for the enrty form. We need same good cars like your Forty Winks car. |
