Force Feedback Help
Anyone ever had a Force Feedback Wheel that does everything ok except..... feedback force?????
All the tests work, ie sounds, buttons and pedals etc; wheel works in games, pedals work in games but.... no force feedback. Is my wheel broken or have I missed something silly in settings somewhere? thx for any advice/help. System details: Win 98 GeForce 4MX graphics Athlon 1000 Direct 9X Last edited by Stuart Hill; 9 Jan 2004 at 22:45. |

perhaps FF is turned off in the game?
Do the games you play support FF? |

Check the options in the game, it's usually turned off by default, i think...

If you have logitech wheel, have you tried going into game controllers / properties?
when there, if you press a button on the wheel, it should give a FF effect. Also this may sound daft but is it all plugged in correctly? I only say this cause i'm having a nightmare at the moment with my (rather used) logitech Formula Force GP wheel, trying to keep the power plugged in (I think the sockets worn on the wheel, same with the pedal socket too). But as I have just had to buy a brand new car, i can't afford to fork out lots of dosh for a new one, so i have to live with it... Ed |

Don't know about that...
Otherwise sounds like you have a broken FF motor or something else. Is there any sound like an electric motor when you use the wheel? Thats what creates the FF effect. (I know this cause i had mine in pieces this evening) |

hmm, well my momo doesn't make any motor sounds so that's not entirely reliable. If the wheel is a good one, you should be able to hear the motors.

Now tested Stu's wheel on my system, and still not working, but different problem.
Game controller shows connected OK, clicking properties opens the editor, but with the error message "The system has lost contact with your device" My own MS FF wheel has a program running at all times, but there doesn't seem to be an open application for this wheel. It appears it may be a software problem. Can anyone who uses this wheel confirm if there is an application running, and what it is if so. Thx |
